-   18:1 He who separates himself seeks his own desire And rages against all sound wisdom.

与众寡合的,寻求自己的心愿,并恼恨一切真智慧。
 -   18:2 A fool has no delight in understanding, But only that his heart may reveal itself.

愚昧人不喜爱聪明,只喜爱显露自己的心意。
 -   18:3 When the wicked man comes, contempt also comes; And with dishonor comes reproach.
     -         
恶人来,藐视也来;羞耻到,辱骂同到。
 -   18:4 The words of a man's mouth are deep waters, A gushing stream, a fountain of wisdom.
     -         
人口中的言语乃是深水,又是涌流的河水,智慧的泉源。
 -   18:5 To respect the person of the wicked man is not good, Nor to turn aside the righteous man in judgment.
     -         
瞻徇恶人的情面,审判时屈枉义人,都为不善。
 -   18:6 A fool's lips bring strife, And his mouth invites blows.
     -         
愚昧人的嘴带来争端,他的口招惹鞭打。
 -   18:7 A fool's mouth is his ruin, And his lips are the snare of his soul.
     -         
愚昧人的口自取败坏,他的嘴是他生命的网罗。
 -   18:8 The words of a whisperer are like dainty morsels, And they go down into the innermost parts of the body.
     -         
传闲话之人的言语如同美食,进入人的深处。
 -   18:9 He also who is slack in his work Is brother to him who is a destroyer.
     -         
作工懈怠的,与毁坏人的是弟兄。
 -   18:10 The name of Jehovah is a strong tower; The righteous man runs into it and is safe.
     -         
耶和华的名是坚固楼;义人奔入,便得安稳。
 -   18:11 The rich man's substance is his strong city And like a high wall in his own imagination.
     -         
富足人的财物是他的坚固城,在他想像中犹如高墙。
 -   18:12 Before destruction the heart of man is haughty, But before honor goes humility.
     -         
败坏之先,人心高傲;尊荣以前,必有谦卑。
 -   18:13 As for him who gives an answer before he hears, It is folly and shame.
     -         
不先听完就回答的,便是他的愚妄和羞辱。
 -   18:14 The spirit of a man can sustain his sickness, But a broken spirit who can bear?
     -         
人有疾病,灵能支持;灵若忧伤,谁能承当?
 -   18:15 The heart of one who has understanding acquires knowledge, And the ear of the wise seeks knowledge.
     -         
聪明人的心得着知识,智慧人的耳寻求知识。
 -   18:16 A man's gift makes room for him And brings him before great men.
     -         
人的礼物为他开路,引他到尊大的人面前。
 -   18:17 The first to plead his case seems just, Until his neighbor comes and cross-examines him.
     -         
先诉情由的似乎有理,等他的邻舍来到,就察明实情。
 -   18:18 The lot causes contentions to cease And decides between the mighty.
     -         
掣签能止息争竞,也能在强者之间下决断。
 -   18:19 A brother offended is harder to be gained than a strong city, And contentions are like the bars of a castle.
     -         
弟兄被冒犯,挽回他比取坚固城还难;这样的争竞如同城堡的门闩。
 -   18:20 With the fruit of his mouth a man's stomach will be satisfied; With the produce of his lips he will be satisfied.
     -         
人口中所结的果子,必充满肚腹;他嘴里所出的,必使他饱足。
 -   18:21 Death and life are in the power of the tongue, And those who love it will eat its fruit.
     -         
生死在舌头的权下,喜爱它的,必吃它所结的果子。
 -   18:22 Whoever finds a wife finds a good thing, And obtains favor from Jehovah.
     -         
得着妻子的,是得着好处,也是蒙了耶和华的恩惠。
 -   18:23 The poor man utters supplications, But the rich man answers roughly.
     -         
贫穷人说哀求的话;富足人厉声以对。
 -   18:24 A man of many friends comes to destruction, But there is a true friend that sticks closer than a brother.
     -         
滥交朋友的,自取败坏;但有一朋友比弟兄更亲密。
